Default (/initial) folder for Save As / Save Copy As / ... SOLVED

Hi Support,

Is there a setting to have the initial folder for the Save As or Save Copy As (or any similar) be the same folder from where the opened document originates ?

Say I open a document from "c:\folder-in-c\doc1.pdf" and also "d:\folder-in-d\doc2.pdf" (so tabbed UI).

Using File - Save As, having "doc1.pdf" be active, would display the "Save File As" dialog - but the initial folder location would not be "c:\folder-in-c", rather some other folder where some other file was recently saved.

Why ask for this: upon opening bad structure documents, a warning will appear "problems were detected..." and I can use the "Save As" button to save a "fixed" document - I would like to overwrite the original document - and for that purpose the initial folder would best be the same folder.

Yes, you can change this from the preferences (Ctrl_K) under documents > save documents:
