PDF-XChange Editor opens PDF files stored on network drives slowly SOLVED

We are experiencing a problem opening PDF files from a network drive using PDF-XChange Editor 10.8.2.407 (x64). Opening a file on the network drive takes a very long time (3–10 minutes). During the opening process, the program becomes unresponsive.
If we open the same file with Firefox while PDF-XChange Editor is opening it, Firefox loads it in less than a minute.
When we save the file locally, XChange Editor opens it without any problems.
The content and size of the PDF file are not the cause. We tested it with various PDF files containing 3D plans, images and text, ranging in size from 100 KB to 10 MB.
All PDF-XChange Editor plugins are disabled.
After uninstalling version 10.8.2.407 (x64) and installing version 10.4.3.391 (x64) on the same system, and then opening the same files, this problem does not occur.

Does anyone know what changed between the two versions? How can this behavior be prevented in the newer version?

We have seen the changelog for the PDF-XChange Editor version 10.8.4.409 and tested it.
This version fixed the problem.
