Hello all,
The bookmarks pane has the ability to highlight the bookmark corresponding to the current page and the "Ensure Visibility of Corresponding Bookmark" option, but it would be nice if the equivalent features were also available in the Named Destinations pane.
People may use named destinations in different ways. When I digitize paper books, I pre-set all page numbers as named destinations so that if pages are added or moved later, the links from external files will not be broken. In many cases, bookmarks are created with the expectation that they will eventually be used by humans, but, named destinations seem to be set up regularly according to rules in order to be referenced from the outside using URLs and the like.
Of course, compared to bookmarks, there are only a few cases in which named destinations are utilized, but users who know and utilize its merits tend to set a large amount of named destinations. In such cases, a feature like the one described at the beginning of this post would save us from drowning in the vast sea of named destinations.
As I mentioned in a previous topic, when I set up a link, I have the Named Destinations pane displayed in advance, and I simply double-click on the item to complete the link's destination. In such usage, it is very convenient that the corresponding destination is automatically highlighted or scrolled in response to changes in the current page.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
Best regards,
rakunavi
