Hello Tracker Support,
This time I have a question.
In PDF-XChange Viewer, there is a "paper clip" showing up in the left lower corner of the window (in fact in the Document Options Toolbar), in case if there are one or more attachments in the opened PDF.
In PDF-XChange Editor, there is no such indication...
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
No indication of included attachments

Hi Willy.
In the near future we are planning to add special vertical bar with some dynamic, document-related features, like a button to show the pane of existing attachments, and a button to show a pane with applied digital signatures, if its ready. You may see similar navigation and document-related bar in Acrobat, on the left of document view.
Cheers.

Re: No indication of included attachments
Thanks for your answer Vasyl, but the thing that is particularly interesting in PDF-XChange Viewer is that you can immediately see if there are attachments or not. If there are, then you see the paper clip, if there are not, you do NOT see the paper clip.
Excuse me, if I do not correctly understand your answer (because you are talking about "dynamic").
Would Tracker Support consider to add this feature also in the Document Options Toolbar of PDF-XChange Editor?
I thought that is was your goal to transfer as much features as possible from the (old) Viewer application towards the (new) Editor, no?
By the way, the feature I am asking for seems also to be missing in Adobe Reader DC.

Re: No indication of included attachments
Hi, Willy.
It was what I mean under "dynamic" term for items on such toolbar.

Sure, it looks like that Acrobat shows the paper-clip icon always, even doc has no any attachments. But for digital signatures - there is other behavior, like you need for attachments..
Cheers.
Example: the special "paper clip" button is visible on some toolbar(probably in DocOptions bar) only when document contains any attachments and must be invisible in other case.Excuse me, if I do not correctly understand your answer (because you are talking about "dynamic").

Probably - yes. Also we thinking about other place - the similar "paper clip" element can be added into document Info Bar (optional, colored strip on top of document view).Would Tracker Support consider to add this feature also in the Document Options Toolbar of PDF-XChange Editor?
In most cases - yes. Some "old" features are transferred from Viewer successfully, for some Editor provides other solutions(we hope - better), and - many stuffs are implemented only in Editor, not in Viewer. And yes - some old, small but useful features still not moved to Editor. Especially because total number of features is huge and is too easy to miss some of them. In that case all your feedbacks, like this, really help us to make Editor better, step-by-step. Thanks.I thought that is was your goal to transfer as much features as possible from the (old) Viewer application towards the (new) Editor, no?
Not exactly. Open in AcroDC two documents, one without digital signatures and one - with it. An compare left vertical bars in both documents:By the way, the feature I am asking for seems also to be missing in Adobe Reader DC.

As far as I understand, in the later threads "Attachment visibility" (2019-10-09) and "Alert when attachments are present?" (2021-12-08), only ticket RT#5853 exists so far, but the panel itself or any other explicit notification to the user about the presence of attachments in the document has not yet appeared?Vasyl - PDF-XChange wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2016 7:29 pmwe are planning to add special vertical bar with some dynamic, document-related features, like a button to show the pane of existing attachments

Hello Jensen Head,
The presence or absence of a green dot in the lower-right corner of the attachment command icon should indicate whether an attachment exists. While there is a limitation—the dot does not light up immediately when a new file is attached, nor does it disappear immediately when all files are deleted—closing and reopening the file will reflect this change in the display.

Re: No indication of included attachments
Thanks @rakunavi for the information.
Honestly, I was not aware about that, although this feature had been introduced since build 362 (Aug 8 2022), together with the Quick Tools toolbar. In the Version History, nor in the manual, there is any info about these green dots indicating the presence of attachments.
Kind regards.
