In addition, how about the adding the ability to use mouse gestures, such as available with FireGestures in Firefox and its derivatives and Opera v12 (properOpera)?
It's extremely convenient, especially being able to choose the gesture for each action.

I agree. I am however using global (supra-application) gestures anyway via my Fingerworks touchpad.
Additionally, there is also a number of global mouse gesture tools available. This way, mouse gestures for common commands (like back, forward, delete etc.) can be defined globally, and then used basically in all applications, including browsers and Windows Explorer, for example.
