PDF X-Change Editor has this concept of "sections" - i.e. you can do a group operation on all the pages from a bookmark up to (but not including) the next page pointed to by a bookmark of the same level. "sections" in this sense is obviously the way everyone thinks about logical divisions in a document but, as far as I know, no other PDF software allows you to do this. So this is a definite plus for X-Change Editor.
However the ability to do an operation by section doesn't seem to apply to adding logical numbering.
If you right-click on a high-level bookmark and choose Sections - Select all the pages in the section are selected. You can then go to Thumbnails where you can right-click on any page within the selection, choose More for Pages and you then get a list of operations which you can carry out.
For example you can choose Resize Pages and resize all the pages in the section - it goes to the Resize panel with the selected pages option already set.
Or you can choose Move Pages to move all the pages in the section - it goes to the Moves Pages panel with the selected pages option already set.
But if you choose Number Pages it simply goes to the Page Numbering panel without any pages pre-selected.
This is a bit surprising because, of all the things you might want to do at a section level, numbering all pages in a section (e.g. section A numbered A1, A2, A3, etc, section B numbered B1, B2, B3 etc) is a very common thing to want to do
Could X-Change Editor be amended to allow easy numbering by section?

Re: Adding logical numbers to a section
Hi, Nemo
Thank you for the suggestion, This sounds lik a fantastic feature, and so I have create a request for it, with a bit of extra flare. I suggested both that we add a "current page" and "selected pages" option to the existing dialog, and suggested that we offer right click menu "create page range" options to the Section menu under bookmarks, as well as the thumbnails pane when multiple pages are selected:
RT#5180: FR: Add selected page range, and Current page and Section options to "page range" dialog
Kind regards,

Re: Adding logical numbers to a section
Thanks Daniel
I can see that being able to go straight to it - from Sections in the Bookmarks pane (rather than having to Select first and go into Thumbnails) would be a bonus.
