Exiting 360.0
I have really been messing around with the Editor's UI the last few days. On several occasions I have noticed parts of the program still running after I have fully exited. I have auto start of updates shut off. Is there a reason this should happen?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Exiting 360.0
Hello, Arnold
At the very least it is not related to the updater, as that is a separate process, not a part of "PDFXEdit.exe".
Can I ask what actions you are performing before you close the software? I cannot seem to reproduce this, but perhaps one of the tools you are using is causing the process to take much longer to close than normal. If you have any hints that can help us to reproduce this, it would be very useful.
Kind regards,

Re: Exiting 360.0
I just closed out of the program and there were 3 exe files showing in Task Manager. I read your post and I was staring at the screen trying to remember what I did today, and all of a sudden another exe popped up in Task Manager. Wow, that was an eye opener!
Today I have not really messed with the UI much, just basic stuff. The 3 that were there before the 4th just popped up were from yesterday I believe. I don't remember deleting them.
I will delete all 4 of them and use the program some more and keep a track of what I do. I had hoped that sending the screen shots might allow you to identify the exe files by their size.

Here are the 4 that er showing in Task Manager right now. Exe's of the same size show up a couple of times in the 4 screenshots.

Re: Exiting 360.0
Hello, Arnold
Thank you for confirming that. I have spoken with the Dev team, and they have asked if you can provide a process dump from one of the extra processes that is started erroneously. The best way to do this would be to start the software, wait for one or more extra to start up as you report. Then close the main process, and wait a few seconds so it can close properly. After that, follow the steps here to generate the process dump on the remaining floating process: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... cess-dump1

Hello, Arnold
No worries, that is fairly common, can you please place the dumps in a zip folder and upload them to our uploads server, with an identifiable name so we can associate them to this topic?

Just uploaded it. Crash_Dump.zip (119 MB). The notes are attached to my previous post - Crash_Dump_File.pdf.

Re: Exiting 360.0
Hi Arnold,
we have made some changes to address this and would like you to test them please because we are unable to reproduce the case here and so cannot test it ourselves.
Please use this link to download a new version of the DLL XCShMain.x64.dll https://files.tracker-software.support: ... QGQCO93s0C
It is a drop in replacement for the one currently in %ProgramFiles%\Tracker Software\Shell Extensions\
It may be prudent to move the existing DLL to a different location so that if needed you can restore it. We are keen to know that this works before releasing the next build, hopeing you can let us know fairly quickly how that goes.

Re: Exiting 360.0
Holy Smokes, I think you guys fixed it. Opened same 3 files using the Open Files dialog. Used File/Exit and PDFX shut down perfectly. Tried opening them with File Explorer and File Commander and that still works fine. Tried it with other files as well. Sorry, I did not see your post until about 20 minutes ago.
You guys are the best. Thank you.

Re: Exiting 360.0
Awesome - thanks for testing that Arnold. The guys will be very pleased to hear this worked and they can commit it to the build.
That MAY be out later today, it depends on one or two more small items we are still working on.
Thanks again for performing that test for us Arnold!
