PDF-XCHANGE Viewer (Pro) shows incorrect results for some PDF files

The PDF-XCHANGE Viewer (Pro) 2.5 (Build 322.10) shows incorrect results for some PDF files, e.g. black or grey areas. When I open the same file with the PDF-XCHANGE Editor, however, everything is displayed correctly.

I have been using the PDF-XCHANGE Viewer for years without any complaint, but the behaviour described above has only turned up since a couple of months. Re-installation did not change anything.

What could be the reason for this phenomenon?

I am not seeing any difference in how the Editor and Viewer render this PDF. Can you illustrate what you are seeing with a screen shot perhaps?

Do note that the Editor is a replacement for the Viewer. We are no longer actively developing the Viewer, so even if this is a bug it is unlikely to be fixed if it works in the Editor correctly.

I am keen to see what you re seeing.

Following your suggestion, please find attached 2 screen shots (JPGs). The one is taken from the X-CHANGE Viewer and the other from the X-CHANGE Editor.

I am sorry to hear that the Viewer is not being developed any further. For my day-to-day work it was just fine.

While the Viewer has been discontinued and not seen any bugfixing or feature updates in over a decade now, this should be something we can address
That looks to me like accessibility color overrides have accidentally been enabled in the viewer. Can you try pressing Ctrl+Shift+6 and see if that helps?

Hi Dan,

thank you for your advice! After entering CTRL+SHIFT+6, the PDF-XCHANGE Viewer is now working just fine. No more black areas etc.
