Input files after processing, option to move to Recycle Bin / Trash

It seems a bit odd that PDF-Tools doesn't give the option to Move to Trash like the main PDF X-Change Editor. It's safer and I'd be more comfortable handling large batches of files, figuring out their final layout, before permanently deleting the files.

I figured the existing Move option could be used for this, by navigating to the Recycle Bin folder from the File Browser (by typing Recycle Bin in the path), however this actually doesn't work and attempting to set it as the folder will trigger an error.

So in addition to the current option to Permanently Delete, please offer a new option to move to the Recycle Bin.
As far as I know, there's two approaches to do this:

a) Displaying a checkbox next to the dropdown when the user selects the "Delete" option, with the label "Don't delete permanently, Move to the Recycle Bin instead". This has the advantage of not increasing the size of the dropdown.

b) Adding a new, separate option in the same dropdown "Move to Recycle Bin". This will make the dropdown larger; I do like the current simplicity of it. But wording things more explicitly is better for the end user, though. If you go for this, since the dropdown will be larger anyways, maybe rename the existing Delete option to "Delete permanently".

What do you think :)

Hello, kimbjo

I do agree adding a move to recycle bin option would be highly beneficial, but I am not certain if it is possible (or at least, reliable).

The reason you could not navigate to the recycle bin with simply the name is because the recycle bin path is a hidden system file, and Windows uses a special identifier for it, based on the user who performed the content deletion.
As PDF-Tools sometimes may need elevated permissions, an option like this may result in a large bulk of deleted files being moved to a recycle bin you cannot see/access on your user account, as tools could be acting as another user. This would then cause some notable file bloat, which you cannot remove, simply because the recycle bin is filling up where you cannot see it.

I will definitely escalate this to the dev team, so they can see if there is a way for us to accomplish this, but based on my understanding of how windows handles recycle bin interactions, the above may be why we do not already offer this.
