PDF Xchange Edit 10.3.386 Silent installation error

Post by Rodrigo »

Hello,

I updated PDF Xchange Editor in my organization from version 9.5 to 10.3.836. I used an SCCM package to deploy the 64-bit MSI with the following command:

msiexec /i EditorV10.x64.msi KEYDATA="PVP1XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" /qn

Out of 600 machines, the update was successfully applied to 400. However, 200 machines are not installing the update.

I tried running the command prompt as an administrator with silent mode options ("/q" "qn" "/quiet"), but it didn’t work. When I run the same command without silent mode, it works fine.

I also tried installing it once without silent mode, then uninstalling PDF Xchange and reinstalling it with silent mode, which works.

Do you have any ideas on what might be causing the issue with these 200 machines? Could it be an old version or a registry key that prevents the silent mode installation from deleting the older versions or registry keys?

Thanks :D

Hello Rodrigo,

The possible reasons for this issue are if the account has limited rights or if something is interfering with the installation ( with the installer).

Please follow the instructions for logging the installation so we can see what is going on during this process:

https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxe10/sw ... edpub.html

The log may contain some personal information so perhaps it is a good idea to send it to our support email: support@pdf-xchange.com.

Regards.
