Lock a Scale to a Drawing

Post by hchaudhry »

Hello,

I want to be able to open up a pdf and have scale measurements directly associated with the plan loaded up. If its the first time opening the file, then it will use default settings.

Building on this idea, a custom profile that can be modified and applied to any given drawing might be beneficial overall - to associate objects or feature sets found in pdf Xchange editor to the pdf itself, or reference an unique id on the pdf metadata that pdf xchange editor uses to check its table of saved settings per id.

In any case, would it be possible to simply save a measurement scale with a pdf document so every time i open it, it will open up the saved scale?

Thanks,

Hello, hchaudhry
(You may want to change your forum username. Currently it is your email address, and usernames are publicly visible)

Now regarding your request, We actually have a ticket on this already, while it is not possible to define a scale for use as a document wide setting, it is possible to define one on a "region" basis (which translates to, just apply the same scale/region rules to every page in the document).
The ticket on this item is ongoing, so I will add your support there, and hopefully we can see something along these lines in the future:

RT#6890: Feature Request :: Editor :: defined scales for regions in PDFs
