PDF export from Powerpoint

Post by katarzyna.kot »

I create training manuals from Slide Notes in Powerpoint. When I print my slides as Slide Notes, the page numbers equal slide numbers. When a slide note is bigger than one page, then two pages get the same page number in pdf. I correct the page numbers manually in PDF Editior, but would prefer not to spend my time on it. Do you know whether this issue can be resolved?

Hello, katarzyna.kot

I am afraid that I do not believe the slide/page number information is something which can be retained in a conversion. I will raise it to the Dev team and see if they think we can offer it, but I cannot make any promises at this time.

Hi,

The PDF-XChange Standard printer does the trick. I discovered how it has to be done.

1. In Powerpoint select option print. Select PDF-XChange Standard printer. In print properties, select Headers/Footers. Add a page number.
2. Select in settings Note Pages & all the other settings.
(Remember that the Notes Master should exclude page number, otherwise it will appear double.)
3. Click print.

The page numbers are nicely appearing in the PDF, no manual work to update page numbers for slides with long speaker notes (exceeding one physical page). This discovery is truly a time saver for me.

Take care,
Katarzyna

Hello, katarzyna.kot

My apologies, I thought you were referring to the "page range" or the page numbers shown on thumbnails in the left side, and admittedly the use of headers did not even occur to me. I am glad to hear you found your solution!

That's great to hear you found a solution using the PDF-XChange Standard printer! It’s always satisfying to discover a method that saves time and effort. Adding page numbers directly during printing can definitely streamline the process, especially when dealing with lengthy speaker notes.
