Hi
A couple of times in the last few weeks my version of PDF Xchange Editor has updated itself to a newer version for which I don't have a license
Is there a way I can disable auto-update?
This happened once a couple of weeks ago, at the time I though I perhaps unwittingly updated the software without realising my licence didn't allow newest version. Since then (with the help of support) I uninstalled v10, and rolled back to v9. Everything worked well and licenced features became available again
Now just this morning I have found that PDFX has updated to v10, and it is in trial mode. My settings for PDF-XChange Updater are below, there is no evidence of update to v10, so I'm confused!

Re: Disable Auto-Update
Hello lamensterms,
Please delete the following folders:
C:\ProgramData\Tracker Software\TrackerUpdate\
C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\Update\
Also, please check if there is TrackerAutoUpdate task in the Task Scheduler:
If there is , please delete that as well.
If after that your software is still updating to the latest version, please check if anther application, for instance your security software, is not updating it.
Some antivirus applications then to update all products as the old versions are considered security threat.
Regards.

Re: Disable Auto-Update
Hi Dimitar thanks very much for the reply
I have deleted to 2 folders, there was no task in the Task Scheduler
I'll keep an eye on it for another few weeks and report back with the results. it was approx 10 days since the previous roll-back to auto-update
Thanks so much!

Re: Disable Auto-Update
And I'm back!
This morning about an hour ago PDF-Xchange got updated to v10.4.3
Interstingly the Updater program doesn't show this update - which suggests another program performed the update?
My AV is Avast and after seeing this thread below, I've uninstalled that so we'll see if I can retain v9 now

Will report back in a week or so

Hello lamensterms,
Regards.
If you your machine is part of managed network, it is quite possible this to be control by the server.Interstingly the Updater program doesn't show this update - which suggests another program performed the update?
Please do so.Will report back in a week or so
