I am using PDF X-Change Viewer Pro every day (for 6 hours) working with Architectural drawings. As the end user I notice that software is missing couple of useful tools/functions and some of the existing needs to be changed:
1. When working with drawings I use booklets and page windows. I create a booklets so each one is link to separate page. When extracting pages from set to new file Booklets are not transfer. Without this extracting pages become useless for me. Imagine extract 50 out of 200 pages to new file and name each page manually again because booklets are missing. (I know that you can copy booklets separately but it becomes difficult when you extracting selected pages).
2. "Delete pages after Extraction" does not work. Original pages are still there.
3. There should be ability to extract pages using bookmarks. Bookmarks do not often contain # of page or are in same order that pages.
4. There should be a QUICK LINK tools. "Rectangle Link Tool" would be a great toll but it takes to long to create a link between pages. There should be link a drag and drop where you can create a kink and drag a arrow to page or bookmark window for quick link.
5. VERY VERY IMPORTANT. WE NEED THIS FUNCTIONS RIGHT AWAY. When working with Architectural drawings very often you need to have open plan, Elevation and Dtl. page in the same time. I also work on them in the same time marking them and making notes. Right now i have to split file into three and work on each file with pages in separate instances. Please change this !!!!
6. Please add function to combine file from right click menu as shown on picture (see link below)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8bnulmvkp3xcl4/Combine.jpg
7. Some of the pdf file when created using new Adobe wont open in PDF X-Change (see link to pdf below)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/saptskva4k590 ... 3.2013.pdf
EVERYTHING ELSE IS GREAT. THANK YOU GUYS FOR CREATING THIS SOFTWARE - GOOD JOB !!!!
Thank you . Chaxy.
I can explain everything in details over the skype with share screen. Please ask support to contact me on my email for skype nick.

Re: What we need, what needs to be changed.
Hello Chaxy,
And welcome to our forums.
I will use the same numbers as you and will directly answer/comments on them.
1) I presume you are referring to Bookmarks here. We are considering adding a feature that will extract the relevant bookmarks as well, but for the moment please do the following. Save a copy of the file with all the pages and bookmarks, and then delete the pages that you do not need. This will preserve the bookmarks structure.
2) This is functioning properly in our PDF-X Editor due for release by the end of this month:
www.tracker-software.com/pdfxve3
3) That's not likely to happen, as a bookmark can point to a single location in your file and a single page, and in fact the logical content to which this bookmark is pointing might spread on e.g. the next three pages, so the reverse process - to keep bookmarks when extracting pages as requested in 1) is the more plausible option.
4) Thanks for the suggestion - we will consider it
5) The PDF-X Editor allows a much easier "Split View" option which should do what you require.
6) Please check our PDF Tools:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-tools
which offers such an option.
7) The sample is a PDF portfolio. We do not yet support the "welcome screens" Adobe are showing, but you can still see all the attachments to a portfolio:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgebase/243
And we are making changes to the PDF-X Editor that will allow us to display those portfolio welcome screens.
Best,
Stefan

First of all thank you for quick respond.

- This is exactly what we do now. It just take a lot of time but thank you for taking this under consideration.

- GREAT. Thank you so much, I will test it.

- That sucks. It there a option that we can choose or limit one bookmark to page and the option like that will be available. For example: If we use PDF Tool to create "special" pdf with one bookmark limitation per page where one bookmark is linked to one page. ?
4) Thanks for the suggestion - we will consider it

5) The PDF-X Editor allows a much easier "Split View" option which should do what you require.

6) Please check our PDF Tools:

- I used pdf tool but it takes too long. I stick to Adobe now and I am fin I just want to mention that. We combine pdf all the time (1000 pages a day) and going thru PDF- Tool and brows for files takes to long.
7) The sample is a PDF portfolio. We do not yet support the "welcome screens" Adobe are showing, but you can still see all the attachments to a portfolio:

- That's correct. i didn't know that. Thanks that works for me.

Re: What we need, what needs to be changed.
Hello edgekraft llc,
Glad I could assist!
for 3) technically you can create a PDF with only a single bookmark pointing to each page, and you could have each page bookmarked, but we can't place such limitations ourselves as this will contradict the PDF specification which we must follow. So while such files can be created, I can't see us offering such a restriction, and consecutively the "extraction of bookmarked only pages" feature being implemented. Sorry about this!
and as I said - we will consider points 4) and changing/adding the functionality for 6)
Best,
Stefan

Wouldn't it be a better idea to name the created topic more descriptively, and divide the suggestions into separate topics? It would be much easier to discuss ideas and find the right topics in the search results.

Hello Jensen Head,
New forum users are usually not too versed in our products, so having such initial posts is not uncommon.
Yes there can be improvements, but we are happy to assist any way a forum topic is structured.
Kind regards,
Stefan
