Offset of Table of Contents

Post by CLEM »

Hi everybody,

In order to collect the tables of contents (more than 500 items) generated by PDF tools and paste it in a word document, I would like to offset the page number of the TOC.

Using the Bates numbering with a starting page of 8/1168, the starting page of the table of contents is 2 and not 8.

Is there any meaning to offset the pages number inside the TOC ?

Hello, CLEM

You can either utilize the real page number, the logical page number, or bates numbering value is present. Specifying an offset is not possible with the bookmark feature, but you can use either logical page numbers, or the bates numbering to add page numbering at the desired offset.

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your answer.

We did the change with the three options but the result is the same. Here is after the sequence we use in order to investigate maybe.

Resizing pages / Saving file / Dividing-Merging/ Filigrane/ Optimisation / Bates numbering / Table of content / Saving file

Option for Bates numbering : %[Page:;8] / %[Pages:;7] - police Simsun 14pt
Option for Table of contents : Use of all level of signets / 3 options of numerotation

The result of the TOC :

signet N°1.................................................1
signet N°2.................................................2
...................
..................

Hello, CLEM

V8 Build 331.0 is quite dated now, we are in V9 build 361.0 now. If at all possible, I would suggest that you update the software, and try this again in the latest version. I do recall there was a bug in the past with a very similar effect to what you are describing.

Hello CLEM,

No - the macros should not need changing/updating.

Kind regards,

Now we have version 10.4.2 and I found this issue to version 8.
I want to have an offset in the TOC, starting for example with page 300 instead of page 2.

Since version 10 an additional box "Content Numbering" with "Stil", "Präfix" and "Start with" fields is available.
If I set "Start with" to 300 it don't help. TOC starts again with page 2.

Is this a bug or have I to use "Start with" field different?
