issues with orthosnap SOLVED

Hi all, noticed an unfortunate interaction that happens when holding shift and using the pencil tool: it selects previous comments even if the current tool is in exclusive mode. is this something that can be fixed or changed?

Unfortunatley, Shift is the toggle for Exclusive mode as well. The way around this in cases when you need to start something from a location where something already exists is to start drawing the object before pressing shift. It does not matter when you press shift, as long as you are holding it at the end of the drawing.

It may be easier to use the "line" tool instead of the pencil tool for this reason, in some cases.

Is it possible to have either the ortho-snap modifier key or the exclusive select override key be user assigned?
