Sort selected bookmarks alphabetically

Hi,

There is an issue when sorting selected bookmarks.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open attached file

File_sort bookmark.pdf

(4 KiB) Downloaded 35 times

2. Select bookmarks E, F, B
3. Sort bookmarks alphabetically

Expected behavior
Only selected bookmarks should be sorted alphabetically

Current behavior
All bookmarks are sorted

This is not a bug, but a feature request, The Sort bookmarks feature does not currently offer an option to sort only the selection (though we do offer an option to sort only the children bookmarks below the selected parents).

I will pass this on to the dev team for consideration, but with the options you have specified in your examples, this is currently working as intended.

There is, of course, a work-around to achieve your objective.

~ Create a new Bookmark, maybe calling it "Sort",

~ Move those Bookmarks you want sorted to that new Bookmark as 'children' thereof,

~ Use the 'Children of selected' option of 'Sort Bookmarks', selecting the sort Bookmark, and finally

~ Select the sort Bookmark (if not already selected) and use the 'Delete and retain children' tool to remove the sort Bookmark.

I use T01/T001 to T999 to label topic numbers... and this is good for sorting topics that may not appear chronologically in the PDF
Sort bookmarks works well, but I had to add the button. Maybe you could add "sort bookmarks" under the ones that appear when right-clicking on the bookmarks with your cursor
