"Words from the Same Page" proximity search does not search comments on page

[Note: I tried to search the forum re this issue using the phrase "same page", but apparently quoted phrases don't work, ie the individual words are search for. So there were 2000+ results.]

I have a pdf where I put certain key phrases in my comments, eg 'all things worthy'. I was hoping I could search my pdf for pages that have, for example, 'all things worthy' in a comment on the page and, for example, the word "stoics" in the actual text of the page. I used the Proximity option "Words from the Same Page". But this search failed in my original document.

I went ahead to create a stripped down version of the problem since the original document is very large. I created the two attached pdfs and associated screenshots of the search results of searching for ["comment text" stoics] with Proximity option "Words from the Same Page". As you can see from the screenshots, with v1 the search returns no results, and with v2 it produces the correct results.

I created the v2 pdf by starting with v1, then deleting the second highlight (beginning with the text "I seek") and associated comment, then creating what appears to be the same highlighting and comment. So what's bizarre is that there seems to be something about the second highlight in v1 that prevents the search from succeeding.

While this might seem minor, I need to be able to trust that my searches return all legitimate matches.

I see the same, and cannot locate any obvious difference between these documents, for the variation in results... I have escalated this to the Dev team for further review, as these file should, as far as I can tell, give the same results.

I have made a ticket on this issue, sadly I cannot offer a timeline for when this fix may be available.

Thanks, Dan. I'm happier just knowing that it's a reproducible bug and not just my imagination. Hopefully, someone on the Dev team will find it intriguing enough to investigate!
