Extended characters

Post by Synergy »

Hi,
I have written an application that opens a pdf file with customised controls. It has been successfully deployed to about 20 users. One user however has experienced an issue when using text boxes as you will see in the attached file. "Sometimes" when she types the characters that appear in the box are the extended character list.

If she opens notepad and types, all is OK, the expected characters are displayed on the screen. Closing and restarting the application does not make a difference. The only resolution is to restart the computer.

I suspect she is pressing some key combination to change the output of the keyboard but it is only apparent when you type in a text box, sticky note, etc.

No other user has experienced this problem.

Still not there - did you zip first ?

Also please advise the version/build, thanks.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

I've seen this with the Arial font and it appears to have to do with font temporary files not being cleaned up by Adobe when I'm also testing things in their reader. Check once if in your fonts list if it lists some weird temporary font names or if changing the font to a different font solves it.

Not sure why this only effects the Tracker Viewer though as all other Windows programs ignore the temporary fonts and use the ones installed on the system when this happens.

Hi,

We have added some logic for the next build that will resolve this issue we believe - should be available early next week ...
