I have a user that ask's the following:
IF you had hundreds of PDF files and you wanted to create an index and to interlink related topics so that, once you have found info about something, you can easily “mark the spot” and then find your way back to it easily …..
How would you do it??
What I do is to make a list in excel with hyperlinks in a cell to the file. Problem with this is that some of the files our hundreds of pages, one needs links to the right place in the file.
PERHAPS the index should be a pdf file ?
PROBLEM: Most PDF files have bookmarks but Adobe reader cannot be commanded to go to a bookmark from outside the file ! (not easily anyway
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: IF you have lots of PDF files and you wanted to create index
Hi orangefish,
2 ways:
1) Create your list either in the Viewer/MSWord/Excel and print your list to PDF or create a blank new document in the Viewer and type out your list.
Using the Tools->Link Tools->Rectangle LInk Tool, Click Actions and on the right pane, Add->Add Link to Page in another document.
set the link and dow the rest.
2) You can create Bookmarks in the Bookmarks pane of a document/new documents and when you add a bookmark, right click it and select Bookmark properties->Actions the same window will open from the above instruction but you neew to delete the premade action that appears by deafult and then add your link to a page in another document.
So however you prefer, Create a list on the PDF page and link them With the Rectangle Link Tool or Create a bookmark list.
HTH,
Chris
