Hi there,
I have just done a clean install of my new pc (windows 7 x64). One of the first things I installed was the PDF Xchange Pro (v5). It's a registered copy and it works just fine.
That is, untill I tell it to add an overlay to my documents. On my old setup (also win 7 x64) this was no problem at all. I followed the directions to the letter and everything worked perfectly. But now, I just get a PDF print of my word document (it does show the text I wrote) but without my overlay.
Any ideas how I can get the overlays to show? I also tried checking / unchecking the box to force the overlay to the foreground but it doesnt seem to matter.
Kind regards,
Krista

Re: Overlay file not showing
Hi Krista,
Thanks for the post - could you please send a copy of the document, as well as a copy of what you're using for an overlay? If uploading to here, then please be sure to wrap the files in a .zip folder. If you don't want to upload so that the general public can see, then would it be possible to have you send the documents to support@pdf-xchange.com, with a link to this forum topic, for reference?
Also, could you go to the Devices and Printer window, in Windows, right click the PDF-XChange Printer, hit Preferences --> About and tell me the build number?
Cheers, let me know!

If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

Re: Overlay file not showing
Hi Stefan,
Thank you so much for your support by e-mail, it worked like a charm and I can now once again use this superb program without problems!
I thought I would update you here (also maybe someone else with this problem will read here first before mailing or posting).
In short, your solution was that I'd update the software not through the update function in the viewer but through downloading it directly on the website. My build was outdated and I thought I had been updating it correctly by just using " check for updates" . Turns out, that did not change the printers' build. I removed the printers and reinstalled them like you suggested and I was happy to see the first test page turn out just as I wanted.
Thanks again for your fast responses and the great support!
Kind regards,
Krista

Re: Overlay file not showing
Glad we could help Krista!
And yes the "check for updates" tool in the Viewer for now only works for the Viewer itself and the printing drivers need to be updated manually. We are working on expanding the functionality of the update tool so that it can work for all our products - but this is a feature that is coming in a future build.
Regards,
Stefan
