Hello!
One feature that most word processors and pdf readers lack is the possibility to invert page colors or change then to brighter text on a darker background. It is quite tiring to read and annotate pdf when staring at a large white light for extended periods of time. If the page background could be turned darkish gray, one would not even need to change the color of the text. Black on gray works quite well. This is what I do when I grade essays in Microsoft Word: I change the page background to gray and then back to white when I am done. A bit tedious but it makes a tremendous difference. It would be a nice feature in your Editor: a single button to enter "dark" mode.
"Dark" Reading mode with inverted colors.

Hello andrea pacor,
Please take a look at Edit -> Preferences -> Accessibility - you can change the page background from there (provided that the page is not a scanned image with lots of white on the image itself).
And you can also "darken" the UI via Edit -> Preferences -> Customize UI.
Regards,
Stefan

I tried Green-on-Black but found that highlights no longer are visible. If that's not a bug, please consider it a feature request.

Re: "Dark" Reading mode with inverted colors.
Thanks for the tip, Stefan. I had the same experience as chillrobot with highlighting. My solution was to turn the background to gray instead of black. Light gray works rather well with black type and highlighting is visible. It would be nice to have a button to go back and forth between modified and regular viewing modes. I am very happy with the solution, though.

Hello Andrea,
Yes comments are normally in a "multiply" blending mode and when multiplying with black - the result is once again black
So using a different background - e.g. light grey is recommended if you need to also see highlights.
As for toggling - the default shortcut is Ctrl-Shift-6, and you can change that from View -> Toolbars -> Customize... (search for override document colors in the all commands list).

I see, using light gray does make highlights mostly visible. Adding this combo to the default set would help people discover it.
