Why is PDF XChange Pro still "2012"?????

well it's just a name... I would ask why Office 2012 is still called Office 2102? It is still the same product, I will concede that there was a move from 5.0 to 5.5 but it is still the same product, just updated.

I'm sure there will be discussion around that here though.

Once the new version of PDF-Tools has been released, then we will likely change the name of the product to, i.e. PDF-XChange 6.0, though I cannot yet give a definite confirmation of the expected name.

Soon! There isn't much left. The new PDF Tools is almost ready, and after that we will probably change to V6 and remove the 2012 from the products names.
