I'd like to have the possibility to change the style of every item that uses a certain palette style after having used them. For example, change the colour of every highlight with subject (as defined in the styles palette) "important".
Also, when change the default properties and apply them to old highlights or notes, the shape and color changes, but not the subject. This way when they're listed in the Comment list, they don't agree with the actual style in the document (say, I highlight something in a style with subject "important", then I decide it's "trivial" (another style), I change the style to trivial but it's still listed as important).
Well I'm being veeery picky. Can't find much wrong... great work, thanks.

Hello Andrea,
This will probably be done the easiest way with some JS.
Can you please share a sample file with some of your styles, and the logic you want to apply (e.g. all red and "important" comments should turn green and "trivial") - and I will see if I can write to a short JS that will do this for you with just a few clicks.
Regards,
Stefan

Re: [Editor] Late style changes for highlights and such
Thank you very much!
I attach an example and my settings.
Basically, I highlight important things in a bright colour and less important parts in a lighter colour. But sometimes I need to change them, say, from bright/light blue to bright/light orange.
For the notes, I use different color and shapes for notes, questions and for marking errors. When I get an answer to a question, I apply the note properties and I want the subject to change accordingly.

Hello ArchStanton,
You can use script like the below one: to search for all annotations with subject "Blue-Str" and change their colour and opacity accordingly.
The colour values are in the range 0.0 - 1.0. The same for Opacity - 1 being not transparent at all and 0 being fully transparent and not visible at all.
If you would like to change any other attributes - let me know and I can provide them here for you to use. Please note that you can change the RGB values, and the search string to suit your needs.
To open the JS console, open the Editor, load a file in it and then press Ctrl-J.
Regards,
Stefan
You can use script like the below one:
Code: Select all
var annots = this.getAnnots();
for (var i = 0; i < annots.length; i++){
if (annots[i].subject == "Blue-Str") {
annots[i].fillColor = ["RGB",1,0.5,0.5];
annots[i].strokeColor = ["RGB",1,0.5,0.5];
annots[i].opacity = 1;
}
}The colour values are in the range 0.0 - 1.0. The same for Opacity - 1 being not transparent at all and 0 being fully transparent and not visible at all.
