Hello rakunavi,

Thanks for your tests!
Could it be that on the verification accounts you do not have full sets of e.g. drivers and additional tools installed? Given that you have the issue on two devices in stripped down accounts, but both devices also work in normal user accounts leads me to believe that it might be related to other tools missing from those verification accounts you have on both machines.

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan, thank you very much for your advice.

I have checked how the touch keyboard is displayed depending on the status of "Show the touch keyboard" option in the touch keyboard settings on Lenovo Ideapad C340-15IWL.

  • figure.png
  • Main account
    • When a test build is executed with the main account
The touch keyboard appears only when "When no keyboard attached" is selected.
      • When other apps are executed with the main account
The touch keyboard is displayed regardless of "When no keyboard attached" or "Always".
    • Verification account
      • When a test build is executed with the verification account
The touch keyboard is not displayed regardless of "When no keyboard attached" or "Always".
        • When other apps are executed with the verification account
The touch keyboard is displayed only when "Always" is selected
As you can see from the verification results above, by specifying the option "When no keyboard attached" in the main account, the touch keyboard can be displayed in both the test build and other applications. I think it is basically a device-dependent issue, so don't worry about it too much. If in the future I am able to give you more information, I will let you know.

      Best regards,
      rakunavi

      This is an additional report.

I also checked the hp All-In-One 22 again to let you know how the options change the behavior, and the touch keyboard no longer appears in the test build, regardless of the account.

The relationship between options and behavior on hp All-In-One 22 is shown below.

      • Main and Verification account
        • When a test build is executed
The touch keyboard is not displayed regardless of "When no keyboard attached" or "Always".
          • When other apps are executed
The touch keyboard is displayed only when "Always" is selected.
When I first checked, the touch keyboard was definitely displayed with the main account on hp All-In-One 22, so this is a step backward. I tried different conditions, such as whether or not to reboot after changing options, but the results were the same. I am confused that the results have changed since I first tried, but I will tell it like it is.

The behavior may vary depending on whether a keyboard is connected or not, but since the number of keyboards connected to both PCs is slightly larger than that of the average person, I am a little hesitant to verify this.

          • Wired keyboard (PS/2 -> USB)

        Further reports will be added.

In the two posts above, I reported that the touch keyboard does not open automatically in the test build of PDF-XChange Editor in the following three cases, and I have found a way to open it automatically, albeit in very limited circumstances.

        • Verification account in Lenovo Ideapad C340-15IWL
        • Main account in HP All-In-One 22
        • Verification account in HP All-In-One 22
In all three cases, the touch keyboard opens automatically when the "Show the touch keyboard" option is set to "Always" in all applications except the test build.

The details are shown in the following verification procedure. Briefly, after launching the test build, change the "Show the touch keyboard" option to "When no keyboard attached" and then change it to "Always" again, the touch keyboard will automatically open only for the process that was running at that time. Once the process is terminated, it will not appear automatically.

        1. When notepad is executed, the touch keyboard opens automatically.
        2. When you run a test build, the touch keyboard does not open automatically.
        3. Open the Typing settings, change the "Show the touch keyboard" option to "When no keyboard attached" and be sure to close the settings window.
        4. Open the Typing settings again, change the "Show the touch keyboard" option to "Always", and be sure to close the settings window.
        5. Tap the text field in the test build and the touch keyboard will open automatically.
        6. Exit the test build.
        7. If you run the test build again, the touch keyboard will no longer open automatically.
        8. When the notepad is executed, the touch keyboard still opens automatically.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, even though the touch keyboard now opens automatically, it has no practical significance because it is under extremely limited circumstances. However, in terms of looking for clues to improvement, perhaps developers might find something if they take a look at this video.

        Best regards,

        Hi All.

Please try this new portable version on your touch devices:

        https://files.tracker-software.support/ ... WWWc4J9SyN

Also – the new option has been added to it (and to the next official version too):
        image.png
By default it has 'Auto'. In case when Auto doesn’t work – you may try to use the exact value you need (as workaround at least)...

In case when you still have trouble with 'Auto' - please let us know...

        Cheers.

        Hello Vasyl,

The touch keyboard now opens automatically, even in cases where it did not open automatically, as reported in a recent report. In all cases, the "Show the touch keyboard" option remains at the default "Auto (controlled by System)".

It is working perfectly. Thank you very much for your great effort.

        Best regards,

        Hi Vasyl,

Touch keyboard is also working as intended with my device using the EditorTestOSK2 build.

I also noticed the other improvements in the test build like the fix for unintentional objects moving using stylus, tools drop down menu in Quick Tools, Edit Text new icon ...

        Thanks for your hard work,

        Hi,

Seems like the fix in 10.3.1 build 387 wasn't yet implemented in Windows Preview panel.

        Thanks for investigating,
