Option to disable PDF/A-2b compliance prompt

Post by Odd Ramos »

I use PDF-XChange Editor much more as a PDF reader than editor.

I read a lot of scientific papers and a lot of those papers are PDF/A-2b compliant, therefore I frequently get this nag message:

Image

Currently I have to press Enable Editing, which then modifies .pdf file, therefore when I close the file, I'm asked whether I want to save the newly modified document, which is very annoying since I've only opened that document for reading.

Is it possible to disable this message?

Possible solutions:

1. Add X button to close this message. Not ideal, because it would require an extra click for each an every PDF/A-2b compliant pdf that is opened for reading.

2. Make this message non permanent. Displaying this message for 5 seconds would be enough to inform the user. Than the message could disappear automatically.

3. Ad an option in the settings to disable this message entirely. My preferred option.

Thank you.
