Ribbon Missing

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has had the same issue, we appear to have a user where PDF XChange will open however cannot see the ribbon or edit any docs, It acts like a cut down version (just a PDF viewer). The only way it works is if we Run it as administrator (which they cannot do without our admin creds).

Any idea?

Seems there should be a link in the UI Options for this. I clicked the options there in vain! I spent over an half hour yesterday trying to figure out where everything went after an update. A user should not have to know in advance that the the secret function is hidden in the keyboard shortcuts. For the record I have never even looked at the keyboard shortcuts after several years of using this product.

By the way, having to re-click the ReCAPTCHA above several times as I'm composing this post is a real PITA. Talk about retentive.

I mentioned your suggestion about a UI button to restore toolbars to the Dev team and they liked the idea. I cannot speak for when such a function will appear, but it seems it is coming in the future.

Regarding the recaptcha prompts. You should only see one, at most, each time that you log in to your user account or make a new post. It is possible that you do not have cookies enabled, which could affect this mechanism. Alternatively, try logging in and ensuring the "remember me" checkbox is checked.

I agree with William from six years ago, that the shortcut key is rather difficult to find -- I found it by searching the web and coming here after at least 10 minutes of fiddling with the UI.

I suggest that right click on the ribbon menu to also give the options provided by F9 (toggle the menu text) and F8 (toggle the ribbon buttons) and Ctrl F8 (toggle both the text and buttons), or rather the first two.

But then, perhaps that is what happens now. I have a and version of PDFExchange, from prior to William's comment, cheapskate that I am.

Yes that is what happens now in case you have hidden all your toolbars : a button "Restore Toolbars Visibility" does appear.

This button became available in versions of PDF-XChange Editor since Dec. 2019.
