We are Architects and often need to compare two construction drawings to see differences,
A number of pdf software vendors support an overlay feature where differences in drawing A is in one colour and differences in drawing B is in another, with common content in black.
See the screenshot, for what I mean.
Both source documents are black, and as you can see the differences are now in different colours.
Can this be done in PDF Xchange, or how do I request this feature ?

Hello Yorg1001,
Thanks for your e-mail and enquiry!
We do not have such comparison features yet, but those are being worked on, and we will have them included in our products as soon as these are ready!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi, Many thanks for your reply.
I have about 30 licenses.
As Architects, this feature is very important.
As you can see, your competitor, PDF studio PRO, has this feature for years now.
Can you please be more specific if this is formally on your roadmap and when roughly expected to be implemented?

Hello Yorg1001,
It is actively being developed, but I do not have a specific date or build for which this will be ready at this point. As soon as I have any more specific information I will post it here!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Tracker,
We also have multiple licences of PDF Editor-Plus and would also find this feature really useful.
It is currently available in competing PDF products.
We're a year on from the original post. Do you have an ETA on when this feature will become available in your software.
Thanks,
c.d.

Re: Overlay to see document differences in different colours
Hello, KD-Chris
Unfortunately overlay comparison is not what we decided to implement in the end, instead programmatic side-by side comparison, with difference highlighting is the route we have taken. That does not mean that in the future we will never offer an overlay comparison, but it is unlikely to come at any point in the near future.
My apologies.

Re: Overlay to see document differences in different colours
Hi Daniel,
With regards to this functionality, can it be used to highlight changes between 2 vector based drawing PDF's (eg. building plans from an architect, one revision to the next) or is it aimed at comparing one text document to another (eg. a contract document)..?
I've tried using it to compare two drawings and not found the results to be useful TBH. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
(screenshot of my results attached) Thanks

Re: Overlay to see document differences in different colours
Hello, KD-Chris
You can use the filter up at the top to focus on only the specific type of changes you are looking for, and selecting any of the changes will help by placing a block around the two associated items where that particular difference is in the files. The "differences" pane that appears on the right is intended to make that process easier, but in case where there are a large amount of changes, it could feel somewhat cluttered. Zooming in on the affected areas may help to make the most of these comparison/jump functions.
Kind regards,
