Feature Request: Have Custom Profiles Persist When PDF_XChange is Upgraded

I want to use custom profiles in the MS Word addin. However, every time I upgrade PDF-XChange (I have a subscription to PDF-XChange Pro), my custom profiles are lost and everything is reset to the defaults. It would be nice if I could upgrade without losing my custom profiles.

Hello, mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap

Word addin settings are definitely retained, not only through updates, but even a complete uninstall, restart of the device, and then a manual reinstall.

Given this and the other issue you have reported here. I have a sinking feeling that there is an issue with either (or both) of your MS Office and our PDF-XChange installations.
  1. Please uninstall both software bundles completely (using the windows control pane > add/remove programs" menu), and then
  2. restart your PC. After that,
  3. install the current stable Office release first, then,
  4. without running any office apps, reinstall our PRO bundle.
  5. Restart the PC once more, and then
  6. launch our Editor, Word and the like, as a normal user (do not run "as admin").
Hopefully this should resolve both the crash you mention in your other thread, and this issue preventing the settings from being saved.

Kind regards,

I tried reinstalling PDF-XChange, but that didn't change the behavior. Reinstalling M365 is not something I'm willing to do at this point. It takes a long time to reconfigure everything in M365, especially Outlook. I'll just print to pdf for the time being. Once this version of M365 hits the stable channel, then we can see if the issue persists.
