Unable to print MS Word Document to PDF

Hello,

I have PDF-Xchange Pro 10.3.0 build 386 with all components installed.
I am using office version number for Word : Microsoft® Word pour Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2405 Build 16.0.17628.20006) 64 bits
OS : windows 10 (19045.4412)

When I try to print a word document to pdf by doing the following tasks :
1) Opening word document, using MS Word
2) ctrl+p
3) Print to Pdf-xchange standard printer
4) A window appears for 0.2 seconds then disapeared and no save dialog windows is opened to choose the file location to save the pdf file.
5) Word doesn't crash but no file is saved or created as pdf

If I do the same in another Office 365 application (excel, powerpoint, Outlook) using the same virtual printer it works perfectly fine.

So the issue is only in Word.

I already did the following things :
- Office quick repair
- Uninstall pdf-xchange, reboot and re-install

Any help would be appreciated

thanks for the post and report.

If you create and send us the printer temp files we can probably see from them what is happening: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowledgeba ... -I-do-this

Do the other conversion methods work? Drag and drop the Word file directly into the Editor to convert it on the fly, or use the PDF-XChange Office Add-In to convert. One uses the printer, one does not, and I am keen to hear the results of trying that.

If you do get those printer temp files and they are too large for email let us know and we will create a secure file drop for yo to put tit on.

but the *.tmp file is not created when printing with the pdf-xchange standard printer from word (eventhough, I enabled the option to keep temp files) :

I checked with ProcessMonitor From Sysinternals (including windword.exe and pdfsaver.exe as filter), I did the following tests :

- With the add-in by clicking on the button Convert To Pdf from MS Word, a progression box briefly appears and a printing progession box during 0.1 second. No save as window and no pdf are created. Process Monitor indicate that the tmp file should be :
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp\pxp8874.tmp
No temp file with this name is present in the folder.



- With Virtual Pdf Printer pdf-xchange standard. I opened MS Word document, then ctrl + p print using the virtual printer. A progession box briefly appears, during less than a second. No save as window and no pdf are created. Process Monitor indicate that the tmp file should be :
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp\pxp8971.tmp
No temp file with this name is present in the folder.

- I finally tested by draging the word file directly to pdf-xchange editor, and this way of doing is working fine.

no save dialogue pops up.... What do you have in the Printing Preferences? Can you confirm it is set to open the "Save As" dialogue?

Regards the procmon logs, yes, that would be good to see. Can you email that password to support@pdf-xchange.com please?

I checked the settings and it's correctly set to set to open the "Save AS" dialogue.

I have just sent the password to acces the procmon files to the email address you provided.
