Scale & Rotate by reference points

Hi,

So this feature would be used with any type of overlay. In my case, I overlay images underneath PDF floor plans for example.

So my image files are scaled differently from my floor plans. when I insert them, I would like to be able to select 2/3 reference points on my floor plan, and then 2/3 reference points on my image. After that selection, the 2 would be perfectly aligned based on the reference points selected.

Is this something that has been considered? It would help a great deal.

I think it would kind of work like the measure calibration tool.

Hello, BIMguy

Thank you for the suggestion. I cannot promise that we will implement this, but I have spoken with the dev team and they are interested in the idea. At the moment I have created a long term feature request, and this will be reevaluated when we next have time to consider such projects.

RT#6966: FR: Add "image insert and transform by reference node" function.

Kind regards,

This javascript tool will scale a selected annotation by two selected lengths:

viewtopic.php?t=41352

Also, I just posted this tool to nudge the rotation of an annotation:

viewtopic.php?t=42851

Two steps, but I have to do exactly what you describe all the time.

Just a note that I've updated this tool to both scale and rotate (align) at the same time. viewtopic.php?t=41352
