Hi,
There's an UI issue which causes confusion when using stylus.
PDFXCE 10.3.1 build 387
Steps to reproduce
1. Add the
Exclusive Mode to the bottom Toolbar (not specific, it's only to show the issue)
2. Perform following actions with a stylus
- Click to enable
- Click again to disable
Issue
Icon's yellow background is still displayed after the 2nd click (disable action) and gives an impression that the button is still enabled

GIF - Action performed with a stylus
The issue is that the cursor is still detected at the same position above the button
- Issue.gif (23.32 KiB) Viewed 3476 times
Expected behavior
No issue with touch
- touch.gif (21.46 KiB) Viewed 3476 times
Thanks for investigating,

Hello, Loki@99
Thank you for the report, as you said, the same occurs with most tools because mouseover causes a color change to indicate which tool will be selected on interact with that position. This is not an issue per-se, as it is very much an expected handling when you leave the cursor above something. Moving the cursor elsewhere will cause this to disappear, as you see happen with touch, since the cursor is not rendered at that position after release.
Kind regards,

That's it.
Maybe there's a misunderstanding cause as I said the issue concerns stylus and not a mouse.
I mean, after clicking with the stylus tip, my hand is already pretty far from the screen so it would make sense to not render the cursor anymore.

Hi,
I noticed that there was no such issue with Microsoft apps.

As an additional note, due to that issue, I have an issue with the
Show/Hide All Comments button that I pinned on Toolbar.
Issue
GIF - Can't clearly see if the button is enabled or disable with stylus click
Solution
A dynamic icon like the one in Exclusive Mode
GIF - The crown icon changes its color on click
The solution is to alternate these two icons

Thanks for passing this,

Hello, Loki@99
I am not certain what the trouble is with the "show/hide all" action. While the button is "lit up" your comments are visible, and when it is not, the comments are hidden. This seems like fairly standard behaviour.
I cannot imagine there are many situations where you tap with the stylus only on this button, do not observe any change to what is visible on the page (indicating the change made), and then do not interact with anything else on the screen for long enough to be unsure. As soon as you begin scrolling with any other touch action, the mouse position changes, and the "mouseover highlight" fades away, so any interaction should dismiss this uncertainty promptly.
Kind regards,

To be fair, maybe I was wrong posting the
Show/Hide All Comments button consufing interface in this topic as it's not really related to stylus.
After working on a PDF for some time, I find the current interface somehow confusing cause as I said I can't clearly see if the button action was set on Show or set on Hide.

You can see the dynamic icon I'm talking about in this following GIF mockup

Something like this will be more intuituve
Thanks for passing this to UI team as it will certainly improve the user experience.

Hello, Loki@99
Thank you for the suggestion, I raised that with the UI team in a related discussion we were having just this past Monday. They said changing the icons to a dynamic state like this may happen in the future, but it is not a priority right now. The team is overwhelmed, and at the moment, we need to reject some features to clear way and give them some breathing room. I am sorry to say, while this should happen in the future, it is not something we can promise at this time, and not something that will be seeing a ticket as of yet.
Kind regards,

Hi,
In addition to the dynamic icon for
Show/Hide All Comments button, it will be great to have a dynamic icon for
Override Documents colors button as well.
I have pinned
Override Documents colors feature to quickly enable and disable it.
My issue is that I have some files like this one with a white image background so toggling it on and off won't make any difference with my custom
Document Color Scheme Options for a night mode.
It's impossible to know what is the state (disabled or enabled) of the feature without an indicator on its icon.
Steps to reproduce the issue
1. Have the following settings for
Document Color Scheme Options in
Preferences > Accessibility
Page Background color : 666666
Text Color : 000000
2. Pin
Override Documents colors feature on a toolbar
3. Open this file
4. Click on
Override Documents colors button on a toolbar
Issue
It's as if the feature hadn't even been activated due to the white image background on the file.
Thanks for considering this,
