OCR vs. Umlaut
I'm working with a scanned document which contains many German names, one of which has a 'ü'. The OCR software consistently recognizes this as 'ii'. On top of which, when I try to edit the "ii" to a "ü", the ü gets inserted in a different font. Any way I can tell the OCR software to recognize German orthography?

Re: OCR vs. Umlaut
Hello R M Fritz,
Can you let us know what version of the Editor are you using for this OCR ? ( Help >> About)
And depending on your license - are you using the default OCR or the Enhanced OCR and for that feature do you have German selected?

Re: OCR vs. Umlaut
I updated to version 10.3.1, build 387, added German to the list of languages recognized, and it worked, at least on one page. I was using the Enhanced OCR engine, FineReader.
Thank you.
(Added) Though on at least one other page I needed to set accuracy to "High." This is going to take some proofing.
