Typewriter field gets fit to edge of document when editing, is this by design?

Typewriter field gets fit to edge of document when editing, is this by design?
Is there a way to disable this behavior?
Please see the attached GIF screen recording
As you can see it only happens when you add new text or change the formatting (e.g setting text to bold)

I see... I guess I should stick to text boxes with transparent borders instead in that case
However, I personally at least would prefer width staying the same unless it is the first time you create the typewriter field. Then the behavior makes sense.
I do understand that it might be difficult for PDF-XCE to understand if you have manually resized the typewriter field though, so perhaps it is understandable.

In addition to what Rakunavi has already linked to let me confirm that - yes the typewriter behaviour is by design, so if you want a fixed width, then please consider using the text area tool instead.
