'subtracting' background ('crop'?) but keep page

Hello all, I'm an avid user of PDF-XCE and know it pretty well but I have a question: I've scanned an old notebook and am trying to get it copied by a local printer. They sent me a template showing which parts of the page will be printed, cut, bound, and visible, etc.
I took the left & right-hand pages, used the 'Organize/overlay' tool to grab each page scan and position it within the template's 'certain visible' margins. Tons of work, but all good.
Now the printer wants their background removed = my content (the scans) against a plain white background.
Is there a way to _keep_ the entire page (=because that anchors my scanned content on their paper format for the printing process) including my scan, but get rid of their background?
I tried and tried but I can't get the crop tool to work and I can't seem to make the background disappear... I've included a little screenshot...see? - I want the blue page & writing 'floating' on a plain white background on the same page-size & same position...
Helllllppppp
