replace stamps with *other same size stamp

Post by MedBooster »

would there be a way to replace a selection of 100+ stamps with another stamp somehow deleting the old stamp and placing the new one in the exact same position?

e.g. same coordinates and same height or width, or both.

Hello, MedBooster

Retaining the size from the previous collection when moving the content into the new collection? No, this is not possible at all.

Retaining the size of the original stamp that was present on a page being replaced with new content, possibly... It would be a process of deleting the old content from the page in that collection, then manually copy/pasting the content from each page onto the already existing target page, as we have discussed in other topics.

I am sorry to say that there is no "secret answer" to these questions you keep asking. No alternate way of phrasing the questions will magically produce a new way to do this. The methods we have discussed for editing stamps (which all basically boil down to "the way you add dynamic content to an existing stamp"), are the only options at this time. Unfortunately, the answers will not change until we are able to revolutionize the stamp editing process, which is a very long time away (likely multiple years at this point).

I meant in any normal PDF.

selection in the sense of what annotations (stamps) you have selected in the document itself or the comments pane)

I said "coordinates" in the sense of where the stamps are placed in a PDF-document, NOT the stamp collection.
Deleting the old selected scripts and placing a new one at the same exact positions and sizes

I guess it might be possible with javascript...

kind of like replacing a string of characters with another string of characters (in base content, not annotations AFAIK), would you be able to do this with stamps or images?

I guess not? What if they are were to have the same "ID"? (not name)

This is a question about regular stamps, not dynamic stamps.

Could it be an idea to use "Watermarks" instead ?

Via Watermarks > Manage > Edit, you can simply exchange one image for another.

Kind regards.

EDIT: Probably this is not a good idea, because the position of the watermark is the same on every page.

Hello Willy Van Nuffel,

Thanks for your suggestion.
It might not always work, but it could work when the thing to be replaced is at the same location on all pages (which I think is the more likely situation in the majority of cases).

@MedBooster - I am afraid that there's no other way that I can think of that can handle your need better than what Willy suggested.

Kind regards,
Stefan
