Set my custom settings/preferences as default when printing

Good morning,
I try to print with my custom profile as default profile (PDF-XChange Printer Standard, Verison 10.5.2, build 395, Feb 13 2025).
I have created a special printer profile (High Quality, no compression, special DIN A5 landscape with additional print margins).

And now I wish that this Profile is used per default, whenever I print anything.
But, every time I print, it is switching back to profile "Standardeinstellungen".
So I have to open the printer settings and select my custom profile. Every. Single. Time.

I am not able to overwrite the profile "Standardeinstellungen".
The tiny pencil next to the Profile has no function and the Save Button is greyed out:

I cannot find any way to make my Printer Profile a "default" profile:

This cannot be right, surely I miss anything here?
How can I set my custom Printer Profile as default, each time I print?
Thank you for pointing my into the right direction.

Hello,
Please try to set this default profile via the Windows Settings:
- right-click the Windows Start button (lower left corner of the screen)
- click Settings
- select Devices > Printers and scanners > PDF-XChange Standard
- click the "Manage"-button
- click "Printing preferences"
- in the "PDF-XChange Standard Printing Preferences"-dialog-box, select the desired "Profile"
- click "Yes" to confirm
- click "OK"
- close the Settings-window
Now, try printing again. Does that help ?
Kind regards.

Dear Willy & Stefan,
thank you very much for your rapid answer.
Indeed, I was able to set the default printer settings according to your instructions:

But when I print, something is not right and the document is not filled as I would expect it:

I checked and found that even with my new default profile, the the Default page size is always reverted back to A4:

So for now, I still have to open the Print settings each time and adjust the default page size to my desired setting.
Do you believe this might be a bug?
Thank you!
Christian

Hello, Xendiadyon
Just to be sure, have you restarted the application you are printing from, or even restarted the PC itself since making these changes? In some cases, applications will "hold" the previously used printer settings in their own memory for a limited time, usually until the next app restart. In some cases, usually (but not always) with apps that offer a background utility, those configurations may be retained until a system restart occurs.
It may also help if you can include a screenshot of the print dialogue settings from this app itself. It is possible that this software offers own configuration is overriding our settings based on your selections there.
Kind regards,

Hi
1) While testing, I saw first saw a difference in settings between:
- Manage > Printer Properties > Advanced-tab > Printing Defaults
- Manage > Printing Preferences
Please check the "Paper"- and "Document info"-settings in both places and be sure to "Save" to your profile each time.
After that, the chosen page size seems to be remembered when going to print.
2) Myself, I can not find a way to select "A5 (+ Beschnitt) (154 x 216 mm)", I only have a choice for "A5 (148 x 210 mm).
Any idea, where you get this from ?
Kind regards.
