Hello,
Is there a workable option to remove fingers from scans? In order to free up space, I would like to scan my books. To do this, I first scan my books. The PDF files are automatically saved on my laptop in a folder. Before storing the file in my NAS's archive folder, I plan to perform a number of operations there. That goes really well, but I have to hold the pages down, of course, and the scan includes my finger on some pages. Is it possible to use PDF Tools to effectively get rid of this? Naturally, it would be fantastic if this option was applied automatically because I want to scan a number of my books.
Thanks so much for the recommendations!

Hello Sean,
Thanks for your reply. I've included a file with some example pages. Hopefully, this will help figure out a solution.
It would be fantastic to have the option to slightly straighten the text when I view the file. Since it's a book scan, the text is now curved.
Thank you very much for the effort.
Kindest regards,
Rob

Hello, RobW
Thank you for the suggestion and sample, I have passed this along to the dev team for review and consideration. I cannot promise a solution will be implemented however.
In the meantime, you can use the "crop pages" tool to remove the bottom section of the page where your finger appears.

Re: Eliminate fingers in scans
Hello Sean,
Many thanks for the effort. I assume that when I put my fingers in the same place and take up as little space as possible I can crop all pages with a default setting. But this might be a problem for certain books (for example when they need more force to keep the pages flat).
Kind regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,
That's a good point, and the development team will take it on board when they review this thread.
