Customising View Default - starting page 1 at RHS

Re: PDF XChange Viewer:
I want to set the PDF viewer so that when looking at page 1 of a booklet, it shows as a separate (RHS) page, and following facing pages show two at a time as even then odd. Not as pairs with page 1 at LHS. It used to do this before the latest upgrade. I can see how to set this for a single document, I want to know how to set this as a default.
At the moment, a booklet shows as pairs of pages, but pairs overleaf, not facing as in the original document.

Hi jacksjacobs,

the feature still works in the current build. When you select View --> Page Layout --> Facing the default is first page on the left. After this go on to select View --> Page Layout --> Show Cover Page in Facing Mode and the cover page will start on the right and all the odd pages will be on the right.

This is not a defualt setting so if you set Edit --> Preferences --> Page Display --> Restore last used Layout and Zoom settings for pages from the recent List when opening you won't have to set this each time for the same document. I don't think tis can be set a a default. Is a default setting what you are looking for here?

You could set a key binding to do this at a keystroke: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowled ... r-commands

Thanks for a very useful answer.
I very easily set up a custom key shortcut to set Cover Page in Facing Mode, which appears to work perfectly - it toggles; I have used cont-alt-O.
However, this seems to work simply only on PDF's opened from a file by clicking in a file list (eg Windows Explorer) or when a file is opened from PDFXChange Viewer in the Open dialogue.
EDITED>>>
When PDFXCV is opened on downloading a pdf from the web, there are problems.
The cont-alt-O toggle doesn't seem to behave in the same way. At first I thought that it only works when a document page has been selected. Otherwise, maybe in my Maxthon Browser, the shortcut seems to be interpreted by the browser rather than by PDFXCV. But that behaviour isn't consistent.
EDIT>>>> The shortcut works when the three keys: Control, Alt, and O are pressed in sequence with a gap.

Also, a user on my serif forum advised me to uncheck Use Last Used Layout.... , which did work once I set the Cover Page option. The setting now does seem to be a default. But I must check if this works with a downloaded pdf.

I must comment that before my recent update, I had no trouble with Cover Page... as a default. My underlying problem is that I want the document (which is a small newsletter as a sidefold booklet) to show facing pages on other readers PDF viewers when they download it from my website link. It doesn't matter how I set my browser/pdf viewer combination - it is how other readers see it that is important. I think Adobe always shows it properly, I am going to check.

The plugin and the standalone browser each have their own customised settings. Customise the shortcut again for the plugin and it should work OK.
