Hi
We plan to use the summarize method of the PDF-XChange viewer using the API. Everything works fine, but there is one thing our customer is a little bit unhappy. The comments for a page are sorted in a way that the lines connecting the summary on the right side to the document on the left side cross quite heavily. This could probably be improved, if the comments were sorted from left to right and top to bottom.
Is there any way to reorder the summary via the API or are there any plans to do so. What is the order of the comments shown in the summary? Is it the order they were inserted into the document?
Thanks
Martin

Re: Order of comments in summarize method
Hi Martin,
In section 2.2.2.14.1 "SummarizeAnnots"
in the Viewer AX manual is a list of all commands you can use when summarizing comments through source.
And in section 2.2.3.35 "Summarize Annotations Group Types" is a list of all the types you can group by and/or sort by the summarized annotations.
The default for both is 0 - Group by page/sort by page
Best,
Stefan

Re: Order of comments in summarize method
Hi Stefan,
I know - but there is no option to sort in visual order from top-left to bottom-right. I am just able to simulate this by sorting by date. As a typical user will read from top-left to bottom-down and will use comments in this order this might help.
As far as I see the sort criteria is always displayed in the PDF summary. I have not found a way to suppress this ( even if I set "Operations.SummarizeAnnots.Output.ShowDate" to "false" it is displayed) . If I sort by date, this date information is a little bit confusing to the reader.

Hi, Martin.
Best
Regards.
We will add this in our 'features'-list, but for now we cannot promise any terms.-is no option to sort in visual order from top-left to bottom-right.
Will check and fix this issue. Thanks. As far as I see the sort criteria is always displayed in the PDF summary.
