I recently upgraded to PDF Tools 6. For a while, I could not find a place where I can adjust contrast or brightness for scanning. Using version 4, I found I need to set both at 25 to get acceptable results with my scanner.
Now I finally figured out that I have to check Show Native UI in order to have those options available.
But in the Native UI I have a problem which I have had for the last 2 years or so with PDF-Tools version 4. For about 2 years, it has defaulted to legal size. Before that time, it would remember that I had set it to letter size. Now the scanning window opens with legal selected and grayed out. I must switch from flatbed to document feeder to be able to adjust the page size. Then I have to switch back to flatbed, if that is my source. Is this a problem you can help me solve, or do I need to contact the manufacturer of my multi-function machine (Konica Minolta)?
Alternatively, is there a way to adjust contrast and brightness from the PDF-Tools 6 interface?

Re: Adjust contrast and brightness for scans
Hello james goodman,
Thanks for your questions and welcome to our forums.
Yes - those options would normally be in the TWAIN drivers for your device, and if those are not used - only some generic options will be shown. As for why it defaults to Legal and greyed out - I can not comment, as this is outside our control. Have you tried scanning through another application (e.g. MS Paint) and is the result there the same?
Have you tried changing the scanner presets directly through windows, and does that affect what defaults are shown later when scanning through tools?
Regards,
Stefan
