Hi,
I have just installed the latest (617.1) version of Editor and had problems, which I managed to fix.
First, I kept on getting 'unable to change registry key...' errors, even if I ran the install file as admin. In the end, I elected to 'ignore' as that was the only way to progress. On rebooting, there was no executable file in the folder to which the desktop icon connected. I had to do a repair install and after that, all was well.
I recall similar issues when I installed on Win 7. Both these OSs are 64 bit and run on the same PC.
Hope this report helps.
Cheers
DrT

Re: Vista install issue
Hello DrTeeth,
Vista is becoming rare these days, but Windows 7 is still quote strong, and we have not heard other such reports, so could it be something specific to your machine? What antivirus product are you using? Does the same happen on another machine (different hardware) with the same installation file?
Cheers,
Stefan
