Ask for unique password for each document

It there a way for the Secure Document action to ask for a unique password for each document? We're on version 318.1. If not, perhaps in a future version. Such a feature would greatly speed up my workflow.

thanks for using PDF-XChange and the post. Unfortunately I am not entirely sure I understand what you are asking for here. One can apply security to a PDF using the Document Properties and each document will have it's own password so they can be as unique as you like...

perhaps I misunderstand. Can you offer more detal on the process you are using?

In PDF-Tools > Actions library > Secure PDF. I do not want all the documents that are secured to have the same password. I do want the program to open a dialog box to ask for the password for each document.

Each of our clients have a unique password that is used only with their documents. This can be done in Editor with several clicks. It looks like I can create a Tool in PDF Tools can streamline the process of selecting the files, password protecting the file then renaming the file quite nicely. But it always remembers the last password used. That is the problem. I want it to ask for a new password each time the tool is run. Is this possible?

Thanks for the post - This isn't currently possible and it's not something that we can implement to be enabled by default; many users work with thousands of document with PDF-Tools, so enabling an option to enter a unique password for each would not be practical for them.

I'll see if some kind of an option can be added for a future release.
