PDF-XChange Editor slow to run/open

I've been using the free version of your program for some years now and have always preferred it over the competition, but for the past few weeks I have experienced a dramatic slow down when using/running the application.
I think it must be to do with the latest Windows 10 update to Version 1703, build 15063.608.
My laptop has an SSD system drive and previously clicking on a .pdf or running the program only took about a second.
Now it takes several....
Even right clicking and looking at it's shortcut properties takes a while.
Temporarily I reverted to a previous backup system image (pre-update) and loading is practically instantaneous.
I've tried un-installing/re-installing PDF-XChange and previous versions, AV, no-AV, but all are the same.
In desperation I'm now using PDF-Viewer, which loads in < 1 second.
Anyone any ideas?

Thanks for the post - There are a few things that you can try here:

1) Try clearing the Editor's recent files history via Edit --> Preferences --> Documents --> Manage History and Recents.

2) If that doesn't help, try clearing the temporary files folder:

3) Try disabling the SharePoint plugin under Edit --> Preferences --> Plugins.

Hi Will, thanks for the quick reply.
I did a Win10 'in-place' re-install and thought I'd cracked it as the first time I ran PDF-X it started immediately, but took >7 secs the next time
So tried you suggestions:
1. Already tried that, no effect.
3. No effect

2. If I delete the PDFXEdit folder in temp it starts immediately and the PDFXEdit folder returns.
2nd run it takes >7 secs and only starts when the PDFXEdit folder returns.
So if there is no PDFXEdit folder it opens quickly, if there is a PDFXEdit folder it deletes it, waits a while, recreates the PDFXEdit folder then runs.

Any further thoughts?

Any update to this issue?
I have the same problem since I updated to the Window Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update). I use PDF xChange Editor 5.5.

Welcome to our forums, and thanks for your post.
Please try updating to the current latest version V7 build 323.2, as we can only fix issues if they are present in the latest one.
Also please try the steps discussed above and let us know if any of them helps you?
