I fixed the issue in my case (PDF-XChange Editor 8.0). There was a tip-off when I went into preferences and clicked on the "Identity" tab. There was a long unresponsive delay due to the "Get the information from the Active Directory" option being selected by default. I unchecked this option and startup was instant. I guess the startup delay has to do with the application checking Active Directory for user information.
Hope it helps. This was driving me crazy.

I work for a large company that uses this software. I am also having the issue with the long load time. I verified that Get the information from the active directory is unchecked. I read many troubleshooting options from the beginning of the post but wanted to know what is the current troubleshoot method. I have version 8.0.333.0.

The current troubleshooting steps are to Update to the current latest version (8.0.336.0) and if the issue persists after updating, please verify whether it is an issue specific to your machine, or if others are also affected. In either case, email us with a copy of at least one affected document and a description of what you have tried so far.
