Hello,
What are the options for getting more vertical space for a document I'm viewing in PDF-XChange Editor?
As shown in the following screenshot, it appears that the vertical sections are:
1 Title bar
2 Menu bar
3 Toolbar
4 Tab bar
5 Document viewing area
6 Status bar
There are several items in the main toolbar that I rarely if ever use. Examples include: Text box, Callout, Attach File, Lines and shapes, Stamp, Pencil & Eraser. In other words, I don't really need any of those items to be readily accessible.
Questions:
a. How do you remove specific items or groups of items from the main toolbar?
b. Is there a way to decrease the height of the main toolbar if the listed items were removed?
c. Is there a way to include the menu bar within the main toolbar or basically position them side-by-side on the same level rather than one on top of the other?
d. Is there another way to access the menus if the menu bar is hidden?
e. How do you hide the Tab bar?
f. Can any of the levels mentioned above be positioned as a side panel rather than as a bar?
Thanks

Re: Options for obtaining more vertical space in PDF-XChange Editor
Hello Gopher,
The toolbars can be thoroughly customized and each tool independently moved (or in a toolbar group) by using the "customize UI" menu, as detailed here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/knowle ... the-Editor
This link should address points A, and B, as for the remainder
C) depending on the version you are running this is possible to a degree. In version 8 you can position tools directly in the title bar, and just below it in the Search and Find area: D and E) There are a few ways to "hide" toolbars, you can use one of the shortcuts, F8, F9, and Ctrl+F8, to temporarily hide certain sections, pressing the same keys will restore the hidden section.
Another option is to make use of the collapse buttons in the corners of toolbars: Both of these methods allow you to restore the default toolbars at a later point. Conversely, if you heavily customize your UI, and have lost some items, you can always search for them in the "customize toolbars menu, under Commands. or simply reset the toolbar on the toolbars tab (or the entire ui form the File > manage settings or Edit > reset settings areas)
F) Currently we do not offer the ability to add side bars through customization, however some functions, such as the "properties toolbar" you are familiar with, shares most of its functions with the properties pane (Ctrl+`) so you can likely hide that toolbar if using this pane. We have seen a number of requests to allow customizing "size bars", so it may become a feature in the future, but for the time being it is not something being actively pursued.
I hope this helps!
