Export as Image

Post by Bhikkhu Pesala »

This doesn't seem to be working at all. What am I doing wrong?

Settings:
  • Current Page
  • All pages in range
  • Destination folder \My Pictures
  • Filename: Test
  • Image type: PNG, BW, 300 dpi, not interlaced, no filter
  • Place each image to different file
  • Graphic resolution 300 dpi
  • Page background: transparent
I click on export but nothing happens.

Can you say the build of the viewer do you use? Just test here and all works well.

I am using Build 024. I tried a different document, but still nothing.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, reapplied updates, and still nothing. This is my export to image dialogue. I tried typing a filename too.

We found a problem and had fixed it.
For now, workarround:

1. Choose Solid as Page background color;
2. Choose White color for background;
3. Now you can switch to transparent again.

Excellent. That works as expected as you can see from the updated image in my previous post. Thank you for your speedy response.

1.
how is the the export command line (including parameters) (no UI)
to convert a PDF file to image (tif or png)
that will look in a browser with same positioning (on zoom 100%) width and hieght as the original pdf ?

what is the fastest technique (even loosing some effects), so the export command on server side
will do it immediatly (no second wait) on PDF sizes about 50k ?

2. do you have some code sample how to view a PDF XCahnge on webbrowser
or by making PHP server-local settings and back to web ?
why I need it ?
because on the ADOBE the PDF view is STEALING the focus, and I can't set focus on any component in the web.

3. how can I view PDF'S (with XChange reader) on any client WEB Browser without making any install (or once silent install)
so the WEB will use the Xchange read and not adobe ?

Hello Rani,

This is a of an bit old topic and it is related to the end user products.
What you are asking is not achievable with the end user viewer:

1) We are not offering automation commands for the export features in the end user Viewer.
You could either use the Viewer SDKs or the Raster XChange Printing drivers we can offer.

2) You could implement a web application utilizing our PDF XChange Viewer ActiveX SDK, but you will need to install the control on the end user machine, in order to display the PDFs themselves. If you want to just display the pages, without any tools - then yes you could think of a way to generate images out of the pages and pass the images inside your webpages rather than the PDFs

3) If you want to pass the PDF and not images you must install at least the control, and this can not be done by the user's consent.

Regards,
Stefan

Hello,

I just red the answer to my question.

I wonder if - a year later - the status is still the same: no command-line export (PDF to JPG) is available using PDF-XChange Viewer?

Yes - the answer is still the same and for now we have no plans to alter/add this functionality.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
