I have some PDF documents that, when opened with PDF-XChange Editor, display a box around all text items in the file. If I open the same file with a factory-default setting of Adobe Reader, the boxes do not appear. I have provided a link (and attachment) for an image file that illustrates the problem.
I typically don't see these boxes in most files. It's just occurring with this recent set of PDF files.
Is there a setting in PDF-XChange that I can use to turn off these boxes?
Here is the URL to the image file.
Thanks,
David
BTW, my OS is Windows 10 Enterprise
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Just to clarify, are you using the Editor or the Viewer? Your post states Editor, but all your images are labelled with Viewer.
Seeing your images depicting the issue, I believe that you are using either the Viewer, or an older build of the Editor. Could I ask you to please try installing the latest build of the Editor, and see if this issue persists? If it does, please use the "File > manage settings > reset settings" function to reset the application to default settings and these boxes should disappear.

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion. I am using PDFXchange Viewer, version: 2.5 (Build 322.10).
Since the boxes only appear in PDF's from one source, I suspect that it's related to their file generator. Nonetheless, since Adobe reader doesn't show them, I figure there should be a way to remove the boxes.
we are no longer actively developing the Viewer, so any results we discuss will be in the context of the Editor.
It may be possible to display them the same as Adobe without these unwanted borders, if the PDF is ISO compliant I definitely expect this to be the case.
Can we have the file here to look into? If you do not want it publicly visible on this forum, please email it to support@pdf-xchange.com and please do give us a link to cross reference this forum thread.

The solution should be to select and to remove the text boxes in question, for in case you like to read the PDF's with PDF-XChange Viewer. In case you are satisfied with using PDF-XChange Editor, there is no need to delete these text boxes. There is a built-in solution to not display these particular boxes.
