Multiple page on single sheet printing

Post by Dhanish »

Is a multiple page on single sheet printing facility being planned?

It is available in Adobe Reader and I use it a frequently.

The comment tools on Xchange viewer are very useful, and I want to remove the other reader completely.

And here's me thinking that PDF files would remove the need for paper.

When I want to read paper documents, I find that I have to scan them so that I can read them on screen at a size that is comfortable for me. I can copy and paste text from PDF documents, but not from scanned paper documents, and I cannot be bothered with OCR.

Do everyone a favour and stop printing stuff out unless you really need to. Then print it out at full size so that people can read it without a magnifying glass.

At first sight, this seems like a reasonable feature request, and might not be hard to do, but is it really so useful to print a document that was designed for 2, 4, 8, or 16 sheets of A4 onto a single A4 sheet? 12 point text becomes 8.4 point on A5, and only 6 point on A6.

There are many things a pdf can contain, not only text. The pdf was around for a while and the printers have not disappeared yet.
In fact printing multiple pages per sheet will save trees as the people will not stop printing on paper too soon!
Such a feature is not only good but in my opinion, is absolutely necessary.
I'm sure PDF-X will have it one day.

Such feature will be realized soon, but for now I cannot say exact into which build.

Cannot be more specific for now,

But - if you have PDF-XChange Standard or Pro - you can use the nUp feature available there to create a new PDF and then print - not ideal - but a workaround.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
