I drag Word files into PDF-XChange Editor to quickly convert them to pdf. PDF-XChange Editor displays the following notice that MS Office is not activated.
I choose to continue anyway and it seems to correctly convert the Word document to pdf.
I'm curious why this notice is displayed. I have an activated version of Microsoft Office on my computer. Does anyone have any ideas what this notice is all about?
Edit to add: I'm using Office version 2108 (Build 14326.20238). This is the preview channel for Office, which is the version between stable and beta. I'm also on a fully updated version of Windows 10.
Thanks

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Features I really want:
1. Fully customizable toolbars: https://forum.tracker-software.com/viewtopic.php?p=167585
2. Sanitize documents w/o being forced into save as dialog (Acrobat has this!): https://forum.tracker-software.com/viewtopic.php?p=156130

Re: Non-Activated Microsoft Office When Directly Converting Word Docs to PDF
Hello, mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap
Microsoft recently changed the way that some versions of office report their "licensed" status, and third party applications, like ours, are often unable to be sure if they are properly covered. Since our software relies on MS office features, we try to check for its activation before we begin.
In cases like yours, where you are sure that the MS office application is licensed, you can use the checkbox at the bottom of that dialog to "remember my choice" and then choose yes to continue anyway. This way it should never bother you again (or at least until you reset our settings).
Kind regards,

Okay, I just wanted to make sure everything is working okay. I'll check the box so the notification does not show up any more.

Re: Non-Activated Microsoft Office When Directly Converting Word Docs to PDF
Hi All,
sorry, if i will "replay" to this old topic.
"one year later" - we have currently the same bug, since we have our PDF Xchange-License period extended.
there still doesn't seem to be a real "solution" for this
best regards

Re: Non-Activated Microsoft Office When Directly Converting Word Docs to PDF
Hello 0Mirko0,
The issue here is in the way MS Reports to us whether it is activated or not. This has changed (on the MS Side) and we can not reliably detect whether MS Office is activated. That's why we show the warning message. If you are sure that all is OK - just click the "Do not show again" checkbox on that and you should no longer be prompted.
Kind regards,
Stefan
